Vanilla Inscription Leveling Guide 1-300

This Inscription leveling guide will show you the fastest way how to level your Inscription skill up from 1 to 300 as inexpensively as possible.

Often the materials are based on a case that you will gain one skill point each craft. This won't happen, so you will have to buy a few extra materials while you are leveling your Inscription.

Approximate Materials Required

Milling is an ability you get when you learn Inscription. Milling can be used to mill 5 herbs for 2 - 4 pigments, then you use the pigments to turn into inks.

The first row in the table below is the total amount of herb needed, it doesn't have to be all from the same herb.

Inscription trainer

First, visit any trainer in the main cities of old Azeroth and learn Inscription. You can learn Inscription from these trainers:

Alliance:

1 - 100

Nightborne characters have +15 Inscription skill because of their passive Ancient History. An extra 15 Inscription skill means recipes stay orange for 15 more points. You can save a lot of gold by doing lower level recipes for 15 more points.

Buy an Virtuoso Inking Set from the Inscription Supply vendor near your trainer.

Light Parchment is not listed in the guide at the recipes. You can usually buy it from the vendor near your trainer or at any general goods vendor.

  • 1 - 45
    44 x Moonglow Ink - 88 Alabaster Pigment

You will use most these later, so keep them.

Also, milling gives skill points up to 25, so if you are milling your own herbs then you can stop when you reach 45 and only make more if you need them.

  • 75 - 80
    36 x Midnight Ink - 72 Dusky Pigment

You will use all of these later, but stop making them at 80, and only make more after 85.

100 - 150

  • 100 - 105
    63 x Lion's Ink - 126 Golden Pigment

Save these, you will use them. But stop making them at 105, and make more later on.

  • 116 - 125

At this point, you can craft any of the discovered Glyphs. I recommend the Glyphs that require 3 x Lion's Ink. The reason for this is because milling Golden Pigment giving herbs will also give you some Burnt Pigment that you can turn into easy skill points at 125.

Make 9 from any Glyph you discovered by Research: Lion's Ink - 27 x Lion's Ink

150 - 200

  • 185-200

Turn all your Royal Ink into Arcane Tarot

    15 x Any orange Glyph - 45 Inks

This can be a mix of Inks, just use the herbs you have or the cheapest ones.

200 - 250

  • 233-250
Make as many Shadowy Tarot from Fiery Ink as you can.

    17 x Any orange Glyph - 51 Inks

This can be a mix of Inks, just use the herbs you have or the cheapest ones.

250 - 300

  • 275-290
Turn all your Sapphire Pigment into Ink of the Sky.

    Make 4 x Research: Shimmering Ink - 12 x Shimmering Ink

    Make 11 x Any orange Glyph - 33 Inks

This can be a mix of Inks, just use the herbs you have or the cheapest ones. You obviously need to do fewer of these if you had a lot of Sapphire Pigment.

I hope you liked this Inscription leveling guide, congratulations on reaching 300!
