Tailoring Leveling Guide for players below level 90

This Tailoring leveling guide will show you the fastest and easiest way how to get your Tailoring skill up from 1 to 700.

Updated for Legion patch 7.3

Tailoring uses cloths as main materials, but you don't need any gathering profession to gather cloths, so Tailoring can be combined with any gathering profession. One other popular choice is Enchanting, because you can craft a bunch of cloths then disenchant them and use the dusts and essences to level your enchanting. You will need thousands of cloths to level Tailoring, and it will cost a lot of gold to buy everything.

If you are low on gold, I recommend you to try this Gold Making Guide, it can help you to make loads of gold.

If you are still leveling your character or you just started a new alt, I recommend you to use a leveling guide. You can level your character to level 110 in 8 days with this guide.

Keep in mind, this Tailoring guide is made to level your profession as fast as possible, so sometimes the cloths you will make might not be the best items for your level or they won't be really profitable if you want to sell them.

  • 1 - 45
130 x [Bolt of Linen Cloth] - 260 Linen Cloth

Make 10 from any of the following:

    [Ebonweave], [Moonshroud], [Spellweave]

  • - 10 Bolt of Imbued Frostweave, 20 Eternal Life, Fire or Shadow

You can also make [Frostweav Bag] instead of these. It will cost you a lot more gold to level with the bags, but when you sell all of them at the Auction House, you will get most of your gold back. You will need to make more Bolt of Imbued Frostweave if you level with bags.

425 - 500

Visit your trainer and learn Tailoring Illustrious Grand Master. Requires level 75.

  • 480 - 484
4 x [Spiritmend Leggings] - 16 Bolt of Embersilk Cloth

It is really important to stop making these at 484!

  • 484 - 494
2 x [Embersilk Bag] - 30 Bolt of Embersilk Cloth, 30 Hypnotic Dust

You will get 5 skill points for each bag. You can also make two [Otherworldly Bag] instead of the Embersilk Bags, but it is usually harder to sell.

Check your Calendar in-game to see if the Darkmoon Faire is open, the event starts at 00:01 on the Sunday before the 1st Monday of each month.

You can gain +5 skill points by completing a single quest. Click here to read more about the quests.

500 - 600

Visit your trainer and learn Zen Tailoring. Requires level 80.

Visit my Windwool Cloth farming guide if you are looking for good farming places.

  • 555 - 600
9 x [The recipe you discovered from making Imperial Silk] - 36-54 Bolt of Windwool Cloth

Every recipe that you can discover will grant you 5 skill points, but the number of cloths required to make them is different. If you didn't discover a Dreadful Gladiator PvP item recipe, but an epic item recipe, you will have to make another Imperial Cloth the next day, or until you discover a pvp item recipe.

600 - 700

Requires level 90.

Things change a bit in Warlords of Draenor because you no longer learn the next rank from your trainer. You have to get a [Draenor Tailoring] scroll to upgrade your maximum Tailoring skill to 700. This scroll will also teach you a few basic recipes which you will use to level Tailoring.

There are three ways to obtain this scroll:

  • 600 - 650
There are 3 recipes that you can use to level to 650. It doesen't matter which one you choose, they all require 50 Sumptuous Fur and give 10 skill points when you craft them.

These recipes are: [Sumptuous Cowl], [Sumptuous Leggings], [Sumptuous Robes]

You will need to craft 5 from one of these so you will need 250 Sumptuous Fur for this part.

  • 700-800

If you character is level 100 already, you can jump to the Legion Tailoring leveling guide to continue leveling Tailoring. If not, then you can't level further until you reach level 100.

WoW Leveling Guide 1-110 Do you want to reach level 110 fast?

I recommend Zygor's Leveling Guide. The guide is in an small window on your main screen in-game. All the detail that you need to complete the quest is included. You’ll never have to switch back to a website, or even the in-game main map to see where you have to go or what’s next. The guide is available for both Horde and Alliance.

I use Zygor's guide for leveling and I highly recommend it.
