Disenchanting tables

[Disenchant] is a spell that you learn when you acquire Enchanting from your profession trainer. This spell is used to extracts the magical elementals from weapons or armor, but it destroys the weapon or armor in the process. After you disenchant an item, a loot box will pop up, and you can pick up the items you have created by disenchanting.

The type and quantity of materials produced from disenchanting varies by item type (armor or weapon), item Level, quality and from which continent it's from (which WoW expansion).

The following general rules can be used for most items (there are a few exceptions):

  • Dusts and Essences usually come from uncommon armor and uncommon weapons, but weapons have a lot higher chance to give you Essences.
  • Shards come from rare equipment.
  • Crystals come from epic equipment.

Vanilla - (level 1 - 60)

Item level Dust Essence Shard
1-25 [Strange Dust] [Lesser Magic Essence], [Greater Magic Essence] None
26-45 [Light Illusion Dust] [Lesser Eternal Essence] [Small Brilliant Shard]
46-60 [Rich Illusion Dust] [Greater Eternal Essence] [Large Brilliant Shard]

Outland - Burning Crusade - (level 60-80)

You can level between 60 and 80 at both Outland, and Northrend, so you can't predict the disenchanting results just based on ilvl. An ilvl 80 armor from Northrend will disechant into different materials from an ilvl 80 armor from Outland.

Northrend - Wrath of the Lich King - (level 60-80)

You can level between 60 and 80 at both Outland, and Northrend, so you can't predict the disenchanting results just based on ilvl. An ilvl 80 armor from Outland will disechant into different materials from an ilvl 80 armor from Northrend.

Cataclysm zones - (level 80-90)

You can level between 80 and 90 at both Cataclysm zones, and at Pandaria, so you can't predict the disenchanting results just based on ilvl.

There are 6 zones where you can get materials from the Cataclysm expension. These zones are: Mount Hyjal, Vashj'ir, Deepholm, Uldum, Twilight Highlands, Tol Barad.

Pandaria - (level 80-90)

You can level between 80 and 90 at both Cataclysm zones, and at Pandaria, so you can't predict the disenchanting results just based on ilvl.

116-136 Uncommon [Draenic Dust]
120-136 Rare [Draenic Dust], [Small Luminous Shard], [Luminous Shard]

WoW Leveling Guide 1-110 Do you want to reach level 120 fast?

I recommend Zygor's Leveling Guide. The guide is in a small window on your main screen in-game. All the detail that you need to complete the quest is included. You’ll never have to switch back to a website, or even the in-game main map to see where you have to go or what’s next. The guide is available for both Horde and Alliance.

I use Zygor's guide for leveling and I highly recommend it.
