WoW Leatherworking guide 1-375

Updated for WoW patch 2.4.3

This WoW Leatherworking guide will show you the fastest and cheapest way how to get your Leatherworking skill up from 1 to 375.

Leatherworking is the best combined with Skinning, but its not required to have skinning aswell. You can buy the materials from AH too, but then make sure you will have enough gold.

If you are low on gold, I recommend you to try this Gold Making Guide, it can help you to make loads of gold. You also need to realize this is not a leveling guide, so if you are looking for a leveling guide, the best one is Team iDemise's 1-70 Leveling Guide.

Leatherworking Apprentice

  • 20-30 or 1-30
    10 x [Light Armour Kit] - 10 Light Leather

You can make these from 1-30 too, if you don't have Ruined Leather Scraps.

Leatherworking Journeyman - Requires Leatherworking (50)

Leatherworking Expert - Requires Leatherworking (125)

  • 165-170
    5 x [Heavy Armour Kit] - 25 Heavy Leather
  • If you are lucky, you will reach 170 while you are making the Cured Heavy Hides and you can skipp this part.

  • 190-210
20 x [Guardian Gloves] - 80 Heavy Leather, 20 Cured Heavy Hide, 20 Silken Thread

Specialization

When you reach 225 skill and level 40, you unlock a set of quests. These quests allow you to specialize in various types of armor, which you can make for yourself only. As of patch 2.1.3, you can switch your Leatherworking specialization without losing any skill points and without doing the specialization quest. Here blelow there is the 3 way with each specialization.

Elemantal Leatherworking

The items you create as an Elemantal Leatherworker focus on melee based leather items (agility and attack power).

Dragonscale Leatherworking

This specialisation offers offensive mail items - there are both caster and melee based sets.

Tribal Leatherworking

The Tribal Leatherworking items are all leather items focused on healing.

Leatherworking Artisan - Requires Leatherworking (200)

Leatherworking Master - Requires Leatherworking (275)

  • 340-350
14 x [Scaled Draenic Boots] - 168 Knothide Leather, 28 Fel Scales, 42 Rune Thread

This recipe goes yellow at 345, so you will need to make a few extra ones. I suggest gathering enough materials for 14.

  • 350-365
40 x [Heavy Knothide Armor Kit] - 120 Heavy Knothide Leather

This recipe goes yellow at 355, so you will need to make a few extra ones. I suggest gathering enough materials for 40. Belive me you want to make this until its turns grey. Other items to craft after 350 costs a loads of money. From here you will make items which ones are already yellow, so be prepared to buy extra materials.

  • 365-370
10 x [Drums of Battle] - 60 Heavy Knothide Leather, 40 Thick Clefthoof Leather

Honored reputation guide with The Sha'tar

Reputation can be gained from Scryer/Aldor signet/mark turn-ins. The following will only grant Sha'tar reputation until you achieve Honored status: [Firewing Signet], [Sunfury Signet], and [Arcane Tome] for the Scryers; [Mark of Kil'jaeden], [Mark of Sargeras], and [Fel Armament] for the Aldor. In addition, these will require more turn-ins to produce equable Sha'tar reputation to the main faction. Note that this reputation gain does not show up in the combat log, but can be verified by looking at your reputation panel. These incidental gains stop upon reaching 5999/6000 friendly with the Sha'tar, so after that you have to kill a mob in Tempest Keep instances, or complete a quest for the Sha'tar.

  • 370-375
10 x [Drums of Panic] - 60 Heavy Knothide Leather, 40 Fel Hide

Honored reputation guide with Keepers of Time:

First you have to do this quest chan: "To The Master's Lair"

When you made that two quests, you will get another quest chain, which starts with this quest: Old Hillsbrad. You have to complete an Old Hillsbard Foothils on Normal level and save Thrall, if you are level 70, this wont be a problem, after you completed it, you will have to complete a Black Morass too, and thats all.
