WoD Alchemy leveling guide 1 - 700

This Alchemy leveling guide will show you the fastest way how to level your Alchemy skill up from 1 to 700 as inexpensively as possible.

Updated for Warlords of Draenor patch 6.2

Alchemy is the best combined with Herbalism. You can save a lot of gold if you level these two professions together because you can farm all the needed herbs. Check out the Herbalism leveling guide if you want to level Herbalism. If you don't have Herbalism, make sure you have enough gold to buy herbs because you will need a lot of them.

If you are low on gold, I recommend you to try this Gold Making Guide, it can help you to make loads of gold.

If you are still leveling your character or you just started a new alt, I recommend you to use a leveling guide. You can level your character to level 100 in 8 days with this guide.

Learning Draenor Alchemy

If your character is below level 90, visit my Alchemy Leveling Guide for players below level 90. This guide is for level 90-100 players.

First, visit your Alchemy trainer at Ashran if you didn't learn Alchemy yet. Alliance players can find Jaiden Trask at Stormshield, and Horde players can find Kristoph Cossey at Warspear.

You can also visit a trainer in the main cities of old Azeroth if you don't have a flight path to Ashran yet - just ask a guard.

Things change a bit in Warlords of Draenor because you no longer learn the next rank from your trainer. After you learned Alchemy, you have to get a [A Treatise on the Alchemy of Draenor] to upgrade your maximum Alchemy skill to 700, and it will also teach you a few basic recipes.

There are three ways to obtain this scroll:

Work orders and daily cooldowns

You can start work orders if you build an Alchemy Lab at your Garrison. The blueprint for the Alchemy Lab can be obtained if you complete the quest chain mentioned above, or when you upgrade your Garrison's Town Hall to level 2.

Work orders convert 5 x [Frostweed] to 2 x [Alchemical Catalyst]. One work order takes 4 hour to complete, but you can queue up a bunch of work orders, so you don't have to log in every 4 hours.

If you have a follower working in your building, you can get 4 [Alchemical Catalyst] each work order instead of two. You can read more about followers if you read my Guide to Followers with Profession Traits.

[Alchemical Catalyst] can also be obtained from doing your profession daily cooldown [Alchemical Catalyst]. This spell produces 8 Alchemical Catalyst, plus additional based on Alchemy skill. The maximum you can get is 20 at skill 700.

[Alchemical Catalyst] is used for crafting tier 2 flasks.

Obtaining new recipes

The recipes your learned from the scroll are only good for leveling between 1-600. New recipes can be purchased at your Alchemy Lab, or at Ashran.

[Secrets of Draenor Alchemy] is needed to create the currency that you can use to buy new recipes. You can only create one Secrets of Draenor Alchemy a day.

Leveling 1-600

If your character is below level 90, visit my Alchemy Leveling Guide for players below level 90. This guide is for level 90-100 players.

Note: Alchemy specializations don't work on Warlords of Draenor recipes.

Alchemy is the easiest and the cheapest profession to level. You can craft any of the Warlords of Draenor recipes from Level 1, so there are a lot of different recipes you can use to level. I recommend on of these five:

[Draenic Agility Potion] - Crystal Vial, 3 x Fireweed
[Draenic Armor Potion] - Crystal Vial, 3 x Frostweed
[Draenic Intellect Potion] - Crystal Vial, 3 x Talador Orchid
[Draenic Strength Potion] - Crystal Vial, 3 x Nagrand Arrowbloom
[Draenic Mana Potion] - Crystal Vial, 3 x Gorgrond Flytrap

I recommend these because these are the easiest to sell. You won't make that much gold from selling them because they usually sell almost for the same price as the herbs used for them, but at least you can get all of your gold back.

So, basically get either 1800 from one of the herbs above and make 600 from the same potion, or you can mix it up and get like 360 herbs from each and make 120 from each potions.

[Crescent Saberfish Flesh] is really cheap on some realms, so if you can get them for 20-30 silver, it might be worth to just simply craft [Crescent Oil] from 1 to 600. You will need 1800 [Crescent Saberfish Flesh] for this.

I don't really like to recommend this because I think you make more gold back with the potions, but if you don't plan to sell anything, then [Crescent Oil] can be the cheapest way to level.

Leveling 600-700

Create one [Secrets of Draenor Alchemy]. Use the [Secret of Draenor Alchemy] to buy one of the flask recipes at your Alchemy Lab:

[Draenic Agility Flask] - 4 Fireweed, 4 Starflower
[Draenic Intellect Flask] - 4 Talador Orchid, 4 Starflower
[Draenic Stamina Flask] - 4 Talador Orchid, 4 Nagrand Arrowbloom
[Draenic Strength Flask] - 4 Gorgrond Flytrap, 4 Nagrand Arrowbloom

You basically have to make 100 from one of these flasks, or you can mix it up and make like 25 each, but then you have to wait at least 4 days to buy all recipes.

I hope you liked this Alchemy leveling guide, GZ to 700!
