This guide provides an overview of the additions and changes to Mining in World of Warcraft Battle for Azeroth.

Learning BfA Mining
The new BfA Mining skill is named differently for the two factions, but the name is the only difference between them.
Kul Tiran Mining is the Alliance version and Zandalari Mining is the Horde version.
Mining Trainers:
- Horde: You can find Secott the Goldsmith in Dazar'alor at the Terrace of Crafters.
- Alliance: Myra Cabot is in Boralus at the Tradewinds Market.
You can walk up to a guard in Dazar'alor or Boralus then ask where the Mining trainer is. Asking the guard will place a red marker on your map at the trainer's location.
Leveling Mining
Professions skills are split between expansions now, you'll have a separate skill bar for each expansion. There are still 950 profession levels in total, just that there is no one single progress bar with 1 to 950 for it anymore. Instead, there are 8 separate progress bars, one for each expansion.
The new Battle for Azeroth Mining has a maximum of 150 skill points. You can level the Battle for Azeroth progress bar without leveling any of the previous expansions tiers, you don't have to level Mining with older ores, you can start in Zandalar or Kul Tiras.

New Ores
You can mine the new ores with BfA Mining skill 1, but the rank 2 and 3 requires higher mining skill.
Storm Silver Ore and Platinum Ore are rare spawns of Monelite Ore. There is about 35-40% chance that once you mine a Monelite vein, it will respawn as Storm Silver Ore, or 5-8% chance for Platinum Ore.
Mining Ranks
Each type of mining node has three ranks, and each rank allows you to gather that specific ore more effectively, so you will get more ore overall. The table below shows how to get each rank.
