Profession Bonuses and Perks
In MoP Classic, Tailoring gives you exclusive cloak enchants that provide a high stat proc for 15 seconds. These embroidery enchants are the main profession bonuses for Tailors and offer extra Intellect, Spirit, or Attack Power depending on your spec. You can also craft cheaper leg enchants for yourself, which give the same stats as regular ones but cost fewer materials.
Cloak Embroidery Enchants
Tailors can add exclusive embroidery enchants to their cloaks for a temporary stat boost:
Darkglow Embroidery - 3000 Spirit for 15 sec
Lightweave Embroidery - 2000 Intellect for 15 sec
Swordguard Embroidery - 4000 Attack Power for 15 sec
Cheap Self-Only Leg Enchants
Tailors can craft cheaper versions of leg enchants for their own gear. These have the same stats as the regular ones but only cost 3x Eternium Thread:
Daily Cooldown
Imperial Silk is the main daily cooldown for Tailoring in MoP Classic. It creates
Imperial Silk, which is used for high-end crafts.
You can also make it without the cooldown using Song of Harmony, but this version costs 3x
Spirit of Harmony.
What is Imperial Silk used for?
Imperial Silk is Bind on Pickup, so you can't sell the cloth itself, only the items you craft with it. However, as you'll see in the recipe lists below, every Imperial Silk recipe requires either a reputation grind or buying patterns from the Auction House. If you're thinking of leveling Tailoring on a level 85 alt just for the daily cooldown, it's probably not worth it.
This table below summarizes the main uses for Imperial Silk and how many you need for each item:
Item Type | Imperial Silk Needed |
---|---|
Greater Spellthreads (Leg Enchants) | 1 |
Epic Gloves (ilvl 476-496) | 4 |
Epic Chests (ilvl 476-496) | 6 |
Royal Satchel (28-slot bag) | 12 |

Leveling Gear (ilvl 384)
These recipes are taught by all trainers. Most of the time you'll craft a random-stat ilvl 384 green, but there's a small chance it upgrades to an ilvl 415 rare version.
Rare Gear (ilvl 450)
These recipes are sold by Esha the Loommaiden and
Raishen the Needle in the Vale of Eternal Blossoms.
Each recipe costs 1x Spirit of Harmony
Epic Gear (ilvl 476-496)
Tailors can craft epic chest and glove pieces. These are great starter items for fresh level 90 characters gearing up for raids.
Golden Lotus Recipes (ilvl 476)
These recipes can be purchased from Jaluu the Generous if you are Honored with the Golden Lotus.
