Midnight professions are getting a few small updates in Patch 12.1, the Curse of Ula'tek patch. It's not a big overhaul, but there are new recipes, two new gathering materials. The biggest thing for most players is the one-time Knowledge Point reset. Here's everything changing for professions in Patch 12.1.
Table of Contents
Profession Knowledge Point Reset in Midnight
In Patch 12.1 you can reset your Knowledge Points, but only once per Midnight profession. This refunds all of your spent points and lets you allocate them again from scratch. It's a returning feature from The War Within, and up to now every point you spent in Season 1 was locked in for good.
To do it, talk to Theremis in Silvermoon City. He stands in the Bazaar near the crafting order table. Talking to him lets you pick which profession to reset, then refunds every point you spent so you can re-path that profession's specialization trees.
Note: Any recipes you unlocked by spending Knowledge Points will be unlearned when you reset. You'll relearn them if you spend the points the same way again, so it's a clean way to fix a spec you regret without losing anything permanently. Just remember the reset is one-time per profession, so once you spend the points again that choice is locked back in.
New Materials in Patch 12.1
There are two new gathering materials in Patch 12.1, and both are locked behind the same temporary curse mechanic, so you can only collect them while an area is cursed. When you defeat one of the elite Curse Surge enemies on The Coiled Isle, that spot flips into
Cursed Land and Waters. That window is the only time these two materials show up, and neither is tied to a normal ore or herb, you just collect the material itself.
Neutralized Venom Clot - Comes from the Envenomated Herbalism and Mining nodes that spawn during the cursed window. Channel a node to cleanse it, then run over the green orbs it leaves to pick up around 12 to 15 clots. It also has a chance to drop from skinning.
Cursebound Globe - Comes from the Cursed Herbalism and Mining nodes that spawn while the area is cursed. It also has a chance to drop from skinning.
New Recipes in Patch 12.1
Patch 12.1 adds a handful of new recipes across several professions. Most come from Renown with Zul'jarra's Forces, profession trainers, or world drops, and a lot of them are housing decor rather than gear. Here's the full list by profession.

Overall Patch 12.1 is a nice, light update for Midnight professions. Nothing here reshapes crafting, but the Knowledge Point reset is genuinely useful. Being able to redo your specialization once per profession is a good safety net if you spent your points before you knew what you were doing.
