Light Leather Farming Spots

This Light Leather farming guide is made to help you farm Light Leather. I decided to search for places with a high density of mobs that I can skin and drop Light Leather. I traveled around Azeroth, and after a while, I made a list of places.

Light Leather

Before you go anywhere, clear your bags first. That’s because for skinning the animals, you need to loot them first. This means you will gather a lot of junk stuff filling your bags.

Silverpine Forest

I got the most Light Leather from farming Marsh Crocolisks at Silverpine Forst. There are always at least 4-5 of them, so they often respawn right on top of you after you kill one if that kill would have reduced their numbers below 4.

Wetlands

This place is recommended for characters higher than level 50. Scroll down to the next part if you are below that level.

You will actually get more Medium Leather than Light Leather. But, since you will get much more leather overall, you get will almost as much Light Leather as the other places with the bonus of also getting a lot of Medium Leather. Not to mention all you have to do is basically stand in one spot without moving an inch, so it's pretty much the best place to farm both types of leather.

Go to the road east of Greenwarden's Grove in Wetlands and you will see a bunch Dragonmaw Whelpstealers fighting Ebon Slavehunters.

Look for the spot on the road where 3 Dragonmaw Whelpstealers are fighting the 2 Ebon Slavehunters. (picture of the location)

  1. Use an AoE ability to kill all 5 mobs.
  2. Loot them and skin the Ebon Slavehunters.
  3. The respawn rate is fast enough that once you finished skinning the 2nd Ebon Slavehunter, 2 new will be there already.

The reason I only recommend this place to higher level players is that the 3 Dragonmaw Whelpstealers are not skinnable, so it would take more time to kill the non-skinnable mobs than to kill the Ebon Slavehunters.

Elwynn Forest

Stonetusk Boars at The Maclure Vineyards in Elwynn Forest respawn really quickly, so you can farm there without downtime.

You will get a lot of Light Leather Scraps but once you convert them to Light Leather, you will get more leather compared to the other places below since your overall kill speed is much faster. (mostly true for high-level players who can one-shot the mobs)

TIP: If you can one-shot the boars, kill them with ranged abilities while you are moving between corpses. They respawn extremely quickly so by the time you get to a spawn point, there should be 2-3 corpses there already.

Loch Modan

Another great place for Alliance players is in Loch Modan. You can find a lot of Mudbelly Boars and Loch Crocolisk around the marked area on the map below.
