Classic WoW Fishing Leveling Guide 1-300

This Classic WoW Fishing guide will show you fastest way how to level Fishing from 1 to 300. You'll discover that it requires a lot of patience and time to build your skill level up to the maximum level. You will have to catch a lot of fish to get from start to finish.

If you haven't leveled cooking yet, I recommend using my Fishing and Cooking leveling guide instead.

I recommend using Zygor's 1-60 Leveling Guide if you are still leveling your character or you just started a new alt. The guide is in a small window on your main screen in-game, all the detail that you need to complete the quests are included. You’ll never have to switch back to a website, or even the in-game main map to see where you have to go or what’s next.

Fishing Trainers

To learn Fishing, you need to reach level 5 and find a Fishing trainer.

Just click on any of these links below to see the trainer's exact location. You can also walk up to a guard in any city and ask where the Fishing trainer is, then it will be marked with a red flag on your map.

Getting started

Buy a Fishing Pole from any Fishing Supply or Trade Supply merchant. You should also buy a bunch of Shiny Bauble to help to catch your first fish a bit easier. (you have to apply it to your fishing pole)

1 - 75

Best place to start is any starting zone like the Durotar or Dun Morogh. Look for a lake, pond or river. Apply your Shiny Bauble lure and fish until you reach 75 skills.

75 - 150

Go to your trainer in one of the capital cities and learn Journeyman Fishing.(Orgrimmar or Stormwind City for example)

Start fishing inside your capital city and keep fishing until you reach 150 skill. (You can also fish in other zones: Ashenvale, Duskwood, Hillsbrad Foothills, Redridge Mountains, Wetlands, Stonetalon Mountains)

150 - 225

Go to Booty Bay in Stranglethorn Vale and find Old Man Heming. Buy Expert Fishing - The Bass and You (requires level 20) from him and read the book . (He is in the middle of Booty Bay at the very bottom part, near a fishing sign)

Fish until 225 in any of these zones: Alterac Mountains, Arathi Highlands, Desolace, Dustwallow Marsh, Stranglethorn Vale, Swamp of Sorrows, Thousand Needles

Learning Artisan Fishing - 225 - 300

To become an Artisan Fisherman, you must complete the quest Nat Pagle, Angler Extreme from Nat Pagle in Dustwallow Marsh. (requires level 35 and Fishing 225)

To complete the quest you have to catch 4 quest-only fish from different locations.

After you completed the quest, fish in any of these zones: Felwood, Feralas, The Hinterlands, Moonglade, Tanaris, Un'Goro Crater, Western Plaguelands
