This Northrend Engineering leveling guide will show you the fastest way how to level your Northrend Engineering skill up from 1 to 75 as inexpensively as possible.
Often the materials are based on a case that you will gain one skill point for each craft. This won't happen, so you will have to buy a few extra materials while you are leveling your Northrend Engineering.
I recommend using Zygor's 1-60 Leveling Guide if you are still leveling your character or you just started a new alt. The guide is in a small window on your main screen in-game. All the detail that you need to complete the quests are included. You’ll never have to switch back to a website, or even the in-game main map to see where you have to go or what’s next. And if you are low on gold, I recommend trying this Gold Making Guide, it can help you to make a lot of gold.

Engineering Tools
You will need some kind of tool to craft most engineering items. These tools are:
Blacksmith Hammer - Sold by Engineering or Blacksmith supply vendor.
Arclight Spanner - Requires 50 skill in Vanilla Engineering to craft.
Gyromatic Micro-Adjustor - Requires 175 skill in Vanilla Engineering to craft.
To save some bag space, I highly recommend getting a Gnomish Army Knife. It replaces all of these tools, so you only have to carry one item with you.
The Gnomish Army Knife also replaces Jeweler's Kit,
Virtuoso Inking Set,
Runed Copper Rod, so if you have any of these in your inventory, you can throw it out.
Where to get The Gnomish Army
-
You can buy the
Ultimate Gnomish Army Knife from the Auction House.
-
If you already learned Draenor engineering, you can craft one
Ultimate Gnomish Army Knife for 5
Gearspring Parts. (Craft one
Gearspring Parts with 15 x True Iron Ore, 15 x Blackrock Ore. It will actually create 8 Gearspring Parts).
-
You can also craft
Gnomish Army Knife if you have Northrend Engineering, but it's usually more expensive to make or buy.
Leveling Engineering
You can learn Northrend Engineering from Timofey Oshenko at Dalaran (Northrend). (same NPC exist in Legion Dalaran, but he won't teach you Northrend recipes)
Gnome characters have +15 Engineering skill because of their passive [Engineering Specialization]. An extra 15 Engineering skill means recipes stay orange 15 points longer, so you can save a lot of gold by doing lower level recipes for 15 more points.

You will need around 50
[Handful of Cobalt Bolts] and 20
[Volatile Blasting Trigger] later. Make these now, and you should reach 10 or probably more. Note that when you craft
[Handful of Cobalt Bolts] you can get 1 or 3 bolts, and the same goes for
[Volatile Blasting Trigger], you will get 2 each craft.

Stop making this when you reach 30.

Use this macro to speed up this part:
/script TradeSkillFrame.DetailsFrame:Create();

/click StaticPopup1Button1This macro basically clicks on the "Tinker" button in your spellbook, puts the enchant on your belt, and clicks on "ok" to overwrite the enchant. You have to select the
[Nitro Boosts] recipe in your profession spell book first, or the macro won't work.

I recommend making a [Wormhole Generator: Northrend] for the last point. This toy will create a portal that lets you teleport to Borean Tundra, Howling Fjord, Sholazar Basin, Icecrown, or Storm Peaks.
Wormhole Generator: Northrend - 8 Titanium Bar, 2 Eternal Shadow, 2 Eternal Water, 2 Eternal Fire, 2 Eternal Air
