This Draenor Cooking leveling guide will show you the fastest way how to level your Draenor Cooking skill up from 1 to 100 as inexpensively as possible.
Often the materials are based on a case that you will gain one skill point each craft. This won't happen, so you will have to buy a few extra materials while you are leveling Cooking.
Learning Draenor Cooking
You can learn Draenor cooking from The Joy of Draenor Cooking. The book can drop from any humanoid mob at Draenor, but fortunately, the drop rate is pretty high, you should get it after 20-30 kills.
1 - 20
30 x Grilled Saberfish - 75 Crescent Saberfish Flesh
While making these, you have a chance to discover new recipes randomly from 12 recipes. You can find a list of these recipes at the next step.
Discovered Cooking Recipes
You probably discovered all 12 recipes from making the previous dish. But the important thing is to have at least two recipes that give the same secondary stat buff. If you don't have two from the same group, you can simply make more Grilled Saberfish until you discover the recipe you need.
I listed the recipes below based on secondary stat gain. All of them have two versions, one you can cook with fish, and one with meat.
- Mastery
Fat Sleeper Cakes - 10 x Fat Sleeper Flesh
Braised Riverbeast - 5 x Raw Riverbeast Meat
- Versatility
Skulker Chowder - 10 x Jawless Skulker Flesh
Clefthoof Sausages - 5 x Raw Clefthoof Meat
- Critical Strike
Grilled Gulper - 10 x Abyssal Gulper Eel Flesh
Blackrock Ham - 5 x Raw Boar Meat
- Critical Strike 2
Fiery Calamari - 10 x Fire Ammonite Tentacle
Rylak Crepes - 5 x Rylak Egg
- Stamina
Steamed Scorpion - 10 x Sea Scorpion Segment
Hearty Elekk Steak - 5 x Raw Elekk Meat
- Haste
Sturgeon Stew - 10 x Blind Lake Sturgeon Flesh
Pan-Seared Talbuk - 5 x Raw Talbuk Meat
20 - 50
Choose two recipes from the same secondary stat group above and craft 15-15 from each. It's important to make recipes from the same secondary stat group because you will use these recipes later.
If one of the ingredients is a lot more expensive than the other one, you should craft 30 from the cheaper one first, so you will have to craft fewer from the more expensive dish in the next step.
50 - 75
Make another 18-18 from recipes in the previous step. (Make 10 from the cheaper one, and 25 from the more expensive one if you made 30 from the cheaper one in the previous step)
I separated this into two parts because you will now get 9-10 dish instead of 4 because you have a higher cooking skill (50). If you started with making 35 from one then 35 from the other, then you would get like 130 from one dish and 350 from the other one. But this way you will get around 240 from both, which is important because you will need them both to cook the next recipe.
You don't have to reach 75 exactly.
75 - 95
These are the recipes below that you discovered from making the previous dishes:
- Critical Strike - Blackrock Barbecue
- Critical Strike 2 - Calamari Crepes
- Haste - Frosty Stew
- Versatility - Gorgrond Chowder
- Mastery - Sleeper Surprise
- Stamina - Talador Surf and Turf
Use all the dishes you made between 20-75 to make around 45 from any of the recipes above.
You will need 45 from one of these herbs: Fireweed, Nagrand Arrowbloom, Frostweed, Gorgrond Flytrap, Starflower, Talador Orchid. (depends on which two recipes you chose previously)
It's not important to reach exactly 95.
95 - 100
Getting skill points from the previous recipes are pretty rare at this point, so I recommend making 5 or more from one of the following:
- 5 x Feast of the Waters - 50 Sea Scorpion Segment, 50 Abyssal Gulper Eel Flesh, 50 Blind Lake Sturgeon Flesh, 50 Fat Sleeper Flesh, 50 Fire Ammonite Tentacle, 50 Jawless Skulker Flesh
- 5 x Feast of Blood - 50 Raw Elekk Meat, 50 Raw Boar Meat, 50 Raw Talbuk Meat, 50 Raw Riverbeast Meat, 50 Rylak Egg, 50 Raw Clefthoof Meat
(you should have discovered both of these by now)
