WoW Forever Disenchanting Guide

This WoW Forever disenchanting guide will show you how to disenchant and what every item disenchants into, from Strange Dust at the start to Large Brilliant Shards at level 60.

You don't need a higher Enchanting skill for higher level items, you can disenchant everything from Enchanting skill 1.

How to Disenchant in WoW Forever

1. Learn Enchanting from an Enchanting trainer, you get Disenchant with it.
2. Open the Professions window with the hammer and pick button, the 2nd button in the menu at the bottom of your screen. In WoW Forever Disenchant is not in your spellbook.

   

3. Drag the Disenchant spell from the Enchanting box to your action bar.

   

4. Press Disenchant and click the item in your bags. The item is destroyed and you get the materials. To disenchant more than one item, use the Disenchant Macro below.

What You Get

What you get depends on the quality and the type of the item. Armor gives mostly dust, weapons give mostly essences, blue items always give a shard:

Disenchanting Table

The level in the table is the level you need to equip the item (Requires Level on the tooltip), not the item level. The item level is mostly not shown in the game outside the Auction House, so I use the required level. For example Gloves of Meditation require level 21, so look at the 21-25 row.

Disenchant Macro

If you want to disenchant more than one item, a simple macro saves you a lot of clicking. For example, if you made 20 Gloves of Meditation while leveling Tailoring, type /macro in chat, click New, give it a name and paste this in:

/cast Disenchant
/use Gloves of Meditation

Put the macro on your action bar. Every time you press it, it disenchants one pair of gloves, so keep pressing it until they are all gone. Replace the item name with the item you want to disenchant. You can Shift-click an item in your bags while editing the macro to paste its name.

Turn on Auto Loot in the options, otherwise you have to click the loot window after every item.
