WoW Forever Leatherworking Leveling Guide 1-300

This WoW Forever Leatherworking leveling guide will show you the fastest and cheapest way to level your Leatherworking skill from 1 to 300. You will also find every trainer location and where to train Leatherworking past 75, 150 and 225.

Below you will find the full shopping list, the Leatherworking trainers by starting zone and capital city, and the cheapest recipes for every skill range from Apprentice to Artisan. Where two recipes are close in price, I listed both with a simple rule for which one to make. Leatherworking is best combined with Skinning because leather is most of the cost, but you can also buy everything in the guide from the Auction House.

This guide is still in progress. Everything in this guide comes from the Forever beta clients. Materials and skill requirements can still change before launch.

Shopping List

These numbers are estimates. Once a recipe turns yellow you won't get a skill point from every craft, so you might need a few more or a few less.

An alternative replaces the whole row, so buy the one that is cheaper.

The list stops at 225. The part past 225 is not tested yet, I will extend it when the cap allows level 35.

Leatherworking Trainer Locations

Apprentice Leatherworking has no level requirement in Forever right now, so you can learn it on a fresh character.

Every capital city has a trainer. You can also ask a guard, then it will be marked with a red flag on your map.

Apprentice Leatherworking (1-55)

  • 1-30
    33x Light Leather - 100 Ruined Leather Scraps

    It turns yellow at 20, so a few crafts won't give a point.

    If you bought Light Leather instead of scraps, make Light Armor Kit until 30 instead, 1 Light Leather each.

  • 30-55
    27x Cured Light Hide - 27 Light Hide, 27 Salt

    Keep 24 of the hides, you will need them for the Light Leather Pants at 100.

    NOTE: Most trainers have a Leatherworking Supply vendor nearby that sells the threads, dyes, and salt, except the trainers in Elwynn Forest and Tirisfal Glades. For those, buy the Salt and Coarse Thread in Goldshire from Tharynn Bouden or in Brill from Abigail Shiel.

Journeyman Leatherworking (55-130)

To train past 75, visit one of these trainers and learn Journeyman Leatherworking, it requires Leatherworking 50 and level 10:

    10x Cured Medium Hide - 10 Medium Hide, 10 Salt

    Keep the Cured Medium Hides, you will need them for the Dark Leather Belts at 115.

  • 90-100
    19x Fine Leather Belt - 114 Light Leather, 38 Coarse Thread

    Keep 10 of the belts for the Dark Leather Belts at 115.

  • 115-125
    10x Dark Leather Belt - 10 Fine Leather Belt, 10 Cured Medium Hide, 20 Fine Thread, 10 Gray Dye

Expert Leatherworking (130-210)

To train past 150, visit Una in Thunder Bluff (Horde) or Telonis in Darnassus (Alliance) and learn Expert Leatherworking, it requires Leatherworking 125 and level 20 and costs 50 silver.

Heavy Hide vs Heavy Leather

If 20x Heavy Hide cost less than around 120x Heavy Leather, 140x Medium Leather and 17x Moss Agate pick the Cured Heavy Hide tab, if they cost more pick the Leveling without Heavy Hide tab.

    20x Cured Heavy Hide - 20 Heavy Hide, 60 Salt

    You will need the Cured Heavy Hides later.

  • 165-175
    10x Guardian Gloves - 40 Heavy Leather, 10 Cured Heavy Hide, 10 Silken Thread
  • 175-195
    26x Guardian Gloves - 104 Heavy Leather, 26 Cured Heavy Hide, 26 Silken Thread

    If you bought Heavy Hide instead, turn them into Cured Heavy Hide first, each one takes 3 Salt.

Artisan Leatherworking (210-300)

To train past 225, visit Hahrana Ironhide in Camp Mojache, Feralas (Horde) or Drakk Stonehand in Aerie Peak, The Hinterlands (Alliance) and learn Artisan Leatherworking, it requires Leatherworking 200 and level 35.

    15x Nightscape Pants - 210 Thick Leather, 60 Silken Thread

    The Expert trainers in Thunder Bluff and Darnassus don't teach this recipe, you can only learn it from the two trainers above.

The part past 225 can't be tested on the beta right now. I have a rough draft based on the datamined skill ranges and what I expect the materials to cost, and I will probably post it later, but everything here will only be tested properly after live, once I can get high enough to level through it. Meanwhile I'm checking vendors for recipe changes.

A lot of skill ranges changed compared to Classic Era, so don't follow the Classic guide for this part, most of its recipes turn grey 25 points earlier in Forever.
