WoW Forever Cooking Leveling Guide 1-300

This WoW Forever Cooking leveling guide will show you the fastest way to level your Cooking skill from 1 to 300 as cheaply as possible. You will also find every trainer location, how the campfire works in Forever and where to train Cooking past 150 and 225.

Cooking doesn't take up one of your two profession slots, so every character can learn it. Most of the recipes below only need the meat or fish that drops while you level, so the guide lists a few recipes for every skill range and you make whichever one you have the ingredients for. Fishing and Cooking Leveling Guide 1-300

This guide is still in progress. Everything in this guide comes from the Forever beta clients. Materials and skill requirements can still change before launch.

Cooking Trainer Locations

Apprentice Cooking has no level requirement in Forever right now, so you can learn it on a fresh character. Every trainer also teaches Journeyman Cooking, so you don't have to find a different trainer at 50.

Capital Cities

Every capital city has a trainer. You can also ask a guard, then it will be marked with a red flag on your map.

Campfire

You need a campfire to cook. There is often one burning next to the Cooking trainer, so look around before you make your own.

In Forever the campfire is an item. You learn the Basic Campfire Kit as soon as you learn Cooking, and you place the fire from your bags, so you can make a stack of kits in advance.

To craft the kits you need Simple Wood and a Flint and Tinder, both sold by General Goods and Cooking Supply vendors. The Flint and Tinder is only for crafting the kits, you don't need it to place the fire.

Journeyman Cooking (50-150)

Visit your trainer again and learn Journeyman Cooking. It requires Cooking 50 and level 10.

50-100

Make around 55 from any of the recipes below. Smoked Bear Meat turns yellow sooner than the rest, so make more of it, or cook it first if you have more than one type of meat.

Expert Cooking (150-225)

To learn Expert Cooking you need to reach level 20 and Cooking 125, then buy the Expert Cookbook from Wulan (Horde) in Desolace at Shadowprey Village or from Shandrina (Alliance) in Ashenvale at Mystral Lake.

150-175

Make around 25 from one of these two. The omelet is yellow from 170, so count on a couple more.

Artisan Cooking (225-300)

This part is not tested yet. Cooking kept every skill range from Classic, so the route from my Classic guide should work here as it is. I couldn't test it because of the beta level cap, so treat everything below as untested until Forever is live, and send feedback if something is off.

Artisan Cooking is the reward of the Clamlette Surprise quest. You need level 35 and Cooking 225 for it.

  1. Pick up the quest that sends you to Gadgetzan: Horde players take To Gadgetzan You Go! from Zamja in Orgrimmar, Alliance players take I Know A Guy... from Daryl Riknussun in Ironforge.
  2. Collect 12x Giant Egg, 10x Zesty Clam Meat and 20x Alterac Swiss. Don't go to Gadgetzan before you have all of them, otherwise you make the trip twice.
  3. Find Dirge Quikcleave in Gadgetzan, take Clamlette Surprise from him and hand in the three items. He teaches you Artisan Cooking on the spot. While you are in Gadgetzan, buy every recipe Gikkix sells, you need three of them in the next two steps.

225-275

Make around 65 from one of these. You can even make them until 285 if the meat or the fish is really cheap.

The recipe comes from two quests in Silithus, and in Classic it needs Cooking 285:
