WoW Forever Engineering Leveling Guide 1-300

This WoW Forever Engineering leveling guide will show you the fastest and cheapest way to level your Engineering skill from 1 to 300. You will also find every trainer location and where to train Engineering past 75, 150 and 225.

Engineering is best combined with Mining, because almost everything you make needs stone and bars, and you can mine both. If you don't have Mining, you have to buy everything from the Auction House. Below you will find the shopping list, the Engineering trainers by starting zone and capital city, and the cheapest recipes for every skill range.

Shopping List

These numbers are estimates. Once a recipe turns yellow you won't get a skill point from every craft, so you might need a few more or a few less.

Engineering Trainer Locations

Apprentice Engineering has no level requirement in Forever right now, so you can learn it on a fresh character.

Capital Cities

There is no Engineering trainer in Thunder Bluff and Darnassus, the other four capitals have one. You can also ask a guard, then it will be marked with a red flag on your map.

Starting Zones

Three starting zones have a trainer, the table shows the closest one for each race.

Human	Elwynn Forest	There is no Engineering trainer in Elwynn Forest, go to Sprite Jumpsprocket in the Dwarven District in Stormwind City
Dwarf, Gnome	Dun Morogh	Bronk Guzzlegear at Steelgrill's Depot
Night Elf	Teldrassil	There is no Engineering trainer in Teldrassil or Darnassus, the closest one is Jenna Lemkenilli in Auberdine in Darkshore
Skyborne	Zephras Isle	I couldn't find an Engineering trainer on Zephras Isle, most likely there is none. Learn it in your capital city after you leave the island

Apprentice Engineering (1-50)

Buy a Blacksmith Hammer from the Blacksmithing or Engineering Supply vendor near your trainer, most recipes need it.

The Gnome racial changed in Forever: instead of +15 Engineering skill, Engineering Specialization now makes your devices fail or backfire 20% less often, so Gnomes level Engineering exactly like everyone else.

• 1-30
  60x Rough Blasting Powder - 60 Rough Stone

  Keep all of them, you need 60 for the bombs at 51. The powder is yellow from 20, so you will probably end a bit past 30.

• 30-50
  30x Handful of Copper Bolts - 30 Copper Bar

  Keep these too, the bombs need all 30.

• 50-51
  1x Arclight Spanner - 6 Copper Bar

  You will use this to craft Engineering recipes, so keep it.

Journeyman Engineering (50-150)

To train past 75, visit one of these trainers and learn Journeyman Engineering, it requires Engineering 50 and level 10:

• 51-75
  30x Rough Copper Bomb - 30 Copper Bar, 30 Handful of Copper Bolts, 60 Rough Blasting Powder, 30 Linen Cloth

  It's possible that you reach further than 75 with these, so it's best not to afk craft them unless you already learned Journeyman Engineering. Either make sure you learn it first, or just don't afk craft them. (Depends on luck, sometimes you don't even reach 75.)

  Yellow from 60, so a few of them won't give a point.

• 75-90
  60x Coarse Blasting Powder - 60 Coarse Stone

  Keep them, the dynamite at 90 needs all 60. Yellow from 85, so the last few points take more.

• 90-100
  20x Coarse Dynamite - 60 Coarse Blasting Powder, 20 Linen Cloth

  This one is yellow the whole way, 20 should be enough for the 10 points.

• 100-105
  5x Silver Contact - 5 Silver Bar

  If Silver Bar is expensive, make this instead:

  5x Flying Tiger Goggles - 30 Light Leather, 10 Tigerseye.

• 105-125
  25x Bronze Tube - 50 Bronze Bar, 25 Weak Flux

  Weak Flux is sold by Engineering Supply vendors near your trainer.

  Yellow the whole way, so you won't get a point from every craft. If you end up a few points short of 125, don't make more tubes, just start the scopes.

• 125-135
  10x Standard Scope - 10 Bronze Tube, 10 Moss Agate

  These are 10 of the tubes you just made.

  Start making Heavy Blasting Powder instead if you don't have any Moss Agate, or it's really expensive.

• 135-150
  Make both of these:
  1. 30x Heavy Blasting Powder - 30 Heavy Stone
  2. 15x Whirring Bronze Gizmo - 30 Bronze Bar, 15 Wool Cloth

  Make sure to make them in the same order. You need both for the sheep at 160, so make them now and you should reach 150 with them.

Expert Engineering (150-200)

To train past 150, visit Roxxik in Orgrimmar (Horde) or Springspindle Fizzlegear in Ironforge (Alliance) and learn Expert Engineering, it requires Engineering 125 and level 20 and costs 50 silver.

• 150-160
  15x Bronze Framework - 30 Bronze Bar, 15 Medium Leather, 15 Wool Cloth

  Keep these too, the sheep need all 15.

  The 15 will probably take you past 160, that's fine.

• 160-175
  15x Explosive Sheep - 30 Heavy Blasting Powder, 15 Whirring Bronze Gizmo, 15 Bronze Framework, 30 Wool Cloth

  Keep 5 of them, you might need them if you choose Goblin Engineering at 200.

  Beta Note: you can sell all of them on the beta, there is no specialization with the level cap.

• 175-194
  60x Solid Blasting Powder - 120 Solid Stone

  Save these, you will need them later.

  Beta Note: Solid Stone is expensive right now, and with the beta cap you would only ever use 20 of these 60 powders. Make these instead:

  1. 10x Solid Blasting Powder - 20 Solid Stone
  2. 10x Iron Grenade - 10 Iron Bar, 10 Heavy Blasting Powder, 10 Silk Cloth

• 194-195
  1x Gyromatic Micro-Adjustor - 4 Steel Bar

  Keep this, you will need it to craft some of the Engineering recipes.

  If you were unlucky with the skill points and didn't reach 195, craft a few more Iron Grenade or any other recipe that gives skill points.

• 195-200
  6x Mithril Tube - 18 Mithril Bar

  Yellow from 195, so you might need one or two more.

Artisan Engineering (200-300)

To train Engineering past 225 you need Engineering 200 and level 35, then learn Artisan Engineering from Buzzek Bracketswing in Tanaris at Gadgetzan, he is right outside the inn near the mailbox. He also teaches the recipes above 200, so go there as soon as you reach 200.

• 200-215
  20x Unstable Trigger - 20 Mithril Bar, 20 Mageweave Cloth, 20 Solid Blasting Powder

  Keep them, the bombs at 238 need all 20.

• 215-238
  40x Mithril Casing - 120 Mithril Bar

  Keep these too, the bombs need 40. Yellow from 235.

• 238-250
  20x Hi-Explosive Bomb - 40 Mithril Casing, 20 Unstable Trigger, 40 Solid Blasting Powder

  Yellow the whole way, so count on a few extra.

• 250-260
  30x Dense Blasting Powder - 60 Dense Stone

  Yellow from 250, so you might need more than 30.

• 260-285
  35x Thorium Widget - 105 Thorium Bar, 35 Runecloth

  Schematic: Thorium Widget is sold by Sovik in Orgrimmar and Gearcutter Cogspinner in Ironforge.

  Yellow from 280, so you might not reach 285 with 35. Just make a few more tubes in the next step then.

• 285-300
  20x Thorium Tube - 120 Thorium Bar

  Schematic: Thorium Tube is sold by Xizzer Fizzbolt in Winterspring at Everlook, in the first building on the right after the gate. It's bind on pickup in Forever, so buy it with the character that levels Engineering.
