WoW Forever Alchemy Leveling Guide 1-300

This WoW Forever Alchemy leveling guide will show you the fastest and cheapest way to level your Alchemy skill from 1 to 300. You will also find every trainer location and where to train Alchemy past 75, 150 and 225.

Below you will find the full shopping list, the Alchemy trainers by starting zone and capital city, and the cheapest recipes for every skill range from Apprentice to Artisan. Alchemy is best combined with Herbalism, with these two you can save a lot of gold because you don't have to buy the herbs from the Auction House.

Shopping List

These numbers are estimates. Once a recipe turns yellow you won't get a skill point from every craft, so you might need a few more or a few less.

An alternative replaces the whole row, so buy the one that is cheaper.

1-225

Beta Note: the beta stops at 225 right now, so I split the list in two. Use this part if you want to level to 225 on the beta.

Alchemy Trainer Locations

Apprentice Alchemy has no level requirement in Forever right now, so you can learn it on a fresh character.

Capital Cities

Every capital city has a trainer. You can also ask a guard, then it will be marked with a red flag on your map.

Not every zone has a trainer, the table shows the closest one for each race.

Apprentice Alchemy (1-55)

• 1-10
  9x Minor Arcane Elixir - 9 Peacebloom, 9 Empty Vial

  Or 9x Elixir of Minor Force (9 Silverleaf, 9 Empty Vial) if Silverleaf is cheaper.

  The vials are sold by Alchemy Supply and Trade Supply vendors, most trainers have one nearby. In Undercity the closest one is Algernon, in Dolanaar it's Narret Shadowgrove.

• 10-55
  45x Elixir of Minor Defense - 45 Silverleaf, 45 Peacebloom, 45 Empty Vial

Journeyman Alchemy (55-150)

To train past 75, visit one of these trainers and learn Journeyman Alchemy, it requires Alchemy 50 and level 10:

  10x Minor Mana Potion - 10 Mageroyal, 10 Peacebloom, 10 Empty Vial

• 65-90
  27x Elixir of Minor Fortitude - 54 Earthroot, 27 Peacebloom, 27 Empty Vial

  The elixir turns yellow at 80, so the last 10 points take a few more crafts.

• 90-120
  30x Elixir of Wisdom - 30 Mageroyal, 60 Briarthorn, 30 Empty Vial

  Keep the elixirs if you also level Tailoring, you will need them for the Gloves of Meditation.

  10x Lesser Mana Potion - 10 Mageroyal, 10 Stranglekelp, 10 Empty Vial

• 130-150
  20x Fire Oil - 40 Firefin Snapper, 20 Empty Vial

  You get 2 oils from every craft. Keep 30 of them, you will need them for the Elixir of Fire Power in the next part.

  Alternative:

  If Firefin Snapper is expensive or there aren't enough on the Auction House, make this:

  20x Lesser Mana Potion instead - 20 Mageroyal, 20 Stranglekelp, 20 Empty Vial.

Expert Alchemy (150-225)

To train past 150, visit Doctor Herbert Halsey in Undercity (Horde) or Ainethil in Darnassus (Alliance) and learn Expert Alchemy, it requires Alchemy 125 and level 20 and costs 50 silver.

  15x Elixir of Fire Power - 30 Fire Oil, 15 Kingsblood, 15 Leaded Vial

  These are the Fire Oils you kept.

  Alternative:

  If you made Lesser Mana Potions instead of Fire Oil, keep making them until 165:

  22x Lesser Mana Potion - 22 Mageroyal, 22 Stranglekelp, 22 Empty Vial.

  36x Mana Potion - 36 Stranglekelp, 36 Kingsblood, 36 Leaded Vial

• 195-225
  36x Nature Protection Potion - 36 Liferoot, 36 Stranglekelp, 36 Leaded Vial

  Recipe: Nature Protection Potion is sold by these vendors, it's bind on pickup, so buy it with the character that levels Alchemy:

  • Bronk in Feralas
  • Logannas in Feralas
  • Glyx Brewright in Stranglethorn Vale
  • Alchemist Pestlezugg in Tanaris

Artisan Alchemy (225-300)

To train past 225, visit Rogvar in Stonard, Swamp of Sorrows (Horde) or Kylanna Windwhisper in Feathermoon Stronghold, Feralas (Alliance) and learn Artisan Alchemy, it requires Alchemy 200 and level 35.

• 230-265
  45x Draught of Detect Undead - 45 Arthas' Tears, 45 Crystal Vial

  This recipe is yellow from 245, so you will probably need a few extra.

• 265-275
  10x Superior Mana Potion - 20 Sungrass, 20 Blindweed, 10 Crystal Vial

  Recipe: Superior Mana Potion is sold by Algernon in Undercity and Ulthir in Darnassus.

• 275-290
  Check the Auction House and make the cheapest one of these three:
  • 20x Superior Mana Potion - 40 Sungrass, 40 Blindweed, 20 Crystal Vial
  • 17x Elixir of Greater Defense - 34 Stonescale Oil, 17 Sungrass, 17 Crystal Vial
  • 27x Elixir of Shadow Power - 81 Ghost Mushroom, 27 Crystal Vial

  Elixir of Greater Defense turns yellow at 280, the other two are already yellow, so you will probably need a few extra. The recipes:

  • Recipe: Superior Mana Potion - Algernon in Undercity, Ulthir in Darnassus
  • Recipe: Elixir of Superior Defense - Kor'geld in Orgrimmar, Soolie Berryfizz in Ironforge
  • Recipe: Elixir of Shadow Power - Algernon in Undercity, Maria Lumere in Stormwind City

Leveling from 290 to 300

In Classic the last points came from Major Healing Potion, which is a First Aid recipe in Forever. You can keep making any of the three recipes above, or fill the points with one of these. I will pick the route once Forever is live and there are real prices.

Recipes from Vendors

These recipes bind on pickup, so you can't buy them on the Auction House. Rin'wosho the Trader on Yojamba Isle in Stranglethorn Vale sells four of them, but you need Zandalar Tribe reputation to buy them. Magnus Frostwake in Western Plaguelands sells Recipe: Major Mana Potion.

Recipes for Merchant's Favor

The new profession factions sell recipes for this range too, Apothecary Durelle at the Durotar Supply and Logistics camp outside the Crossroads (Horde) and Nina Surefire at the Azeroth Commerce Authority camp at Three Corners in Redridge Mountains (Alliance). You get Merchant's Favor for handing in supply crates at the same camp, and the recipes are bind on pickup. Only one of them reaches 300:

  17x Major Frenzy Potion - 51 Plaguebloom, 34 Blindweed, 17 Imbued Vial

  This recipe is yellow from 295, so you will need most of the crafts for the last 5 points.

Elixir of Nature Power, Elixir of Wicked Regeneration and Major Spellblasting Potion from the same vendors turn grey at 295, so they only get you halfway.
